Cardio Kick Class

Tipperary Sports Partnership is holding an online Cardio Kick Class as part of their Women’s DIY fitness programme. The 6 week programme starts on Tuesday 23rd February at 7pm for1 hour. This class is a cardio based full body workout with a mixture of kicking techniques, punching techniques and is suitable for all abilities. No equipment is needed.

Beginners Rise and Shine Yoga Class

Tipperary Sports Partnership is holding an online Beginners Rise and Shine Yoga class as part of their Women’s DIY fitness programme. The 6 week programme starts on Monday 22nd February at 8.00am for1 hour. This class is designed to wake up the body and mind for the day by using different postures and movements to help increase flexibility, strength, while also quieting and calming a busy mind. The class will be done online via zoom in the privacy of your home by a qualified tutor.

OT 2021 How-to-film-yourself for the virtual 5k

Thank you and welcome to the OT Virtual 5K! We can’t wait to see how you get on participating in one of the largest ever virtual events in Ireland, and for us to see you as you run your individual route, we’ll need your help with capturing that on camera. Not everyone will have someone in their bubble that can film them while they’re walking or running their 5K, so clink on the link below for some tips as to how to best film your experience and share that footage with us.

for Tipperary sports clubs. The workshop will cover all aspects of the SCEP application process. So this is your opportunity to gain valuable insight on applying for a grant.

The Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP) is operated by the Department of Tourism, Culture,a Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and provides grants to assist in the development or refurbishment of sports facilities and the provision of sports equipment.

Men's DIY Fitness Programme

Tipperary Sports Partnership are holding a 6 week men's online fitness class once a week for 6 weeks for 1 hour. This class is aimed at men who want to improve their general fitness, strength and mobility. Are you are working from home or sitting at a desk for long periods of time or you just feel your strength and mobility could do with some improvement? If so this class is the class for you. The class will be done online via zoom in the privacy of your home by a qualified tutor.

Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Training

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating Child Welfare and Protection in Sport Basic Awareness Workshops. This course is aimed at sports leaders, Children's Officers, parents or anyone working with young people in sport.
A central goal for all those involved in sport for young people is to provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can develop and enhance their physical and social skills.

RTÉ Sports Presenter, Evanne Ní Chuilinn will present the show which was created to celebrate the very best of Irish women in sport and to promote excellence, inclusion and inspiration for attendees nationwide.

The Keep Well campaign is aimed at showing people of all ages how we can mind our own physical and mental health and wellbeing by adding healthy and helpful habits to our daily and weekly routine

Sport Ireland, Get Ireland Walking and Healthy Ireland are encouraging people of all ages to walk into 2021 by taking part in the Keep Well Walking Challenge.

The 2021 Sports Capital Grants Scheme is now open!
Applications can be made online only from 9am on Friday 11th December until 5pm on Friday 12th February, 2021.
The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, T.D, and the Minister of State for Sport and the Gaeltacht, Jack Chambers, T.D., today announced that €40 million is being made available in 2021 under a new round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).

Orienteering

Orienteering is the sport of navigation that requires you to find your way from one point to another using only a map, your brains and sometimes a compass. It’s easy to learn and a fun way to exercise your body and mind, as you enjoy the outdoors. It’s a sport for everyone and is something that can be easily learnt by people of all ages and abilities. Orienteering is usually done in the woods, hills or parks, with the participants on foot and it develops many skills including problem solving, team work, decision making and self awareness. It really is fun for all the family.

Outdoor recreation plays an important role in supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of society & people are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors while adhering to Government protocols.
As Phase 1 of the Government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business begins, a nationwide approach to participating in outdoor recreation has been adopted.

Over the coming weeks the campaign will focus on different themes including early years, storytelling, playful learning, play and families, play and creativity and play to support well being.

FIT FOR ALL 2020

FIT FOR ALL WEEK GUIDE FOR PARTICIPATING LEISURE CENTRES AND FITNESS PROFESSIONALS
The national Fit For All week is aimed at increasing awareness among people with disabilities, their families/carers and disability services on the benefits of regular exercise, healthy lifestyles and opportunities to participate within the local community. Fit For All also aims to increase awareness and build the capacity of leisure & fitness professionals in providing accessible programmes and facilities within their local community.

Activity for Children and Young People

All children and young people aged between 2-18 years should be active, at a moderate to vigorous level, for at least 60 minutes every day. This should include muscle-strengthening, flexibility
and bone-strengthening exercises 3 times a week.

Make sure to maintain social distance of 2 metres at all times and stay within 2km of your home.
