Olympics 2024

The countdown is on for Olympics 2024!!.
Best of luck to the Irish team especially the Tipperary members including Daire Lynch (Rowing), Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe (Rugby Sevens) and Sharlene Mawdsley (Athletics).
The opening ceremony will take place on Friday July 26th at 18.25 along the River Seine in Paris.
For those interested in following the progress of our county competitors.
Amee-Leigh is part of the Irish Rugby Sevens womens team and their qualifiers take place on Sunday July 28th at 14.30 and 18.00 and Monday July 29th at 13.30.

Introduction to Mountain Biking

To celebrate HER Outdoors Week we are holding an Introduction to Mountain Biking for Adult Women and Teenage Girls
Qualified instructors will be on hand to lead the group of beginners while offering instruction and tips on bike handling, braking and body position etc.
Wear Comfortable clothing and footwear and bring your own water and sunscreen.
Bikes and Safety Gear will be provided on the day.

Paddle Sisters

As part of HER outdoors week we would like you to
join us for this teenage girls only kayaking camp starting on Monday the 12th of August.
It will be four fun filled action packed days where you will learn to kayak under the watchful guidance of qualified Canoeing Ireland Instructors.
Whether you’re a beginner or experienced paddler, this camp is for you.
This camp is for girls between the ages of 13 -17.

Sports Ability Day

Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to be hosting a Sports Ability Day on Friday 9th August in the Presentation Sports Complex, Thurles from 12.30-1.30 pm.

The Sports Ability Day will showcase a range of inclusive sporting opportunities across Tipperary.

The Sports Ability Day will allow people in the community and particularly those with added barriers to participate.

It will give an opportunity to sample inclusive sporting opportunities and link with NGB's and local inclusive clubs.

Safeguarding Autumn Schedule 2024

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Basic Awareness Training.
The course is aimed at sports leaders, children’s officers, parents or anyone working with young people in sport.
A central goal for all those involved in sport for young people is to provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can develop and enhance their physical and social skills.

Activator Programme - Fethard Town Park

Tipperary Sports Partnership are hosting a 6 week Activator programme for Older Adults at Fethard Town Park.
This programme starts on Tuesday 28th of May at 7pm
This session promotes: Strength, mobility, balance and aerobic fitness
It is also an excellent tool for pre/post hip or knee surgery
The session will be delivered by a specialised tutor and activator poles will be provided.

Dragon Boating Taster Session

Join us for an exhilarating Dragon Boating Taster Session!!. Discover the power, teamwork, and excitement of this ancient Chinese sport on Saturday May, 11th, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Our event will take place in the beautiful location of Irishtown, Clonmel.

Dragon boating is not only a fantastic way to stay fit and active, but it's also a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people and form lasting friendships. No prior experience is necessary, as our experienced instructors will guide you through the basics and ensure your safety.

This programme starts on Tuesday 21st of May at 5pm
This session promotes: Strength, mobility, balance and aerobic fitness
It is also an excellent tool for pre/post hip or knee surgery
The session will be delivered by a specialised tutor and activator poles will be provided.

Couch to 5K

TSP are delighted to team up with Tipp FM for a Couch to 5K Challenge and are looking for volunteers to take part.

You'll be transformed from a couch potato to a 5K champion in just eight weeks.

First Aid for Sports Clubs (REC 1).

Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to facilitate a First Aid Course for Sports Clubs (REC 1).
This course is designed to provide first aid skills to people working or operating in a rural/remote and sports environments.
REC 1 will provide participants with the lifesaving skills, knowledge and confidence to deal with first aid in realistic sport settings.
This course will cover: Health Safety and Welfare, Principles of First Aid, Vital Signs, Basic Body Organs and Function, Safety, Casualty Care,

Paddy Doyle selected as Tipperary recipient of the Volunteer in Sport Award for 2023

Congratulations to Paddy Doyle of Moyne Athletic Club who was selected by The Federation of Irish Sport as the Tipperary recipient of the Volunteer in Sport Award for 2023
Tipperary Sports Partnership were delighted to support this event with the National Network of Local Sport Partnerships.

Paddy Doyle announced as the 2023 County Tipperary recipient of the Federation of Irish Sport Volunteers in Sport Awards.

Paddy Doyle of Moyne Athletics Club has been named as the 2023 County Tipperary recipient of The Federation of Irish Sport Volunteers in Sport Awards.

These awards are supported by the National Network of 26 Local Sports Partnerships.

The awards ceremony will take place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown on Thursday 29th February 2024.

The County Tipperary award for 2023 has been awarded to Paddy Doyle of Moyne Athletics Club.
