Golf4All Come & Try Day
Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with Golf Ireland, Thurles Golf Club, and the Irish Wheelchair Association and are delighted to host a Golf4All Taster Event in Thurles, Co.Tipperary
This is a great opportunity to try the game of golf in a fun and friendly environment.
All equipment is provided, and our fully trained Golf Professional will be on hand to adapt the game to anyone’s needs.
This event is free, but registration is essential.

Niall O'Sullivan from Clonmel Athletics Club named as Tipperary 2022 Volunteer in Sport Awards

The Federation of Irish Sport recently celebrated the winners of the 2022 Volunteers in Sport Awards proudly supported by the National Network of 29 Local Sports Partnerships.
The special guest speaker at the awards Thomas Byrne, Minister of State with responsibility for Sport & Physical Education, presented the recipients from each county with a custom-made medal recognising their amazing dedication to volunteering across a variety of different sports.

Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with The Tipperary Town Community Sports Hub are delighted to host Circuit Training Programme for Older Adults at the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre.

This is an opportunity to both meet new people or bring friends along to exercise in a social setting

Why not sign up for this light circuit training programme which is in a fun and friendly environment.

These instructor led sessions will commence on Thursday 13th April at 12:30pm for one hour each week for 8 weeks

Irish Sport Volunteers in Sport Awards - Tipperary Recipient Announced

Niall O’Sullivan named the 2022 county Tipperary recipient of the federation of Irish sport volunteers in sports awards- supported by the national network of 29 Local Sports Partnerships.

The awards ceremony will take place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown on March 22nd 2023.

The Federation of Irish Sport have announced the winners of the 2023 Volunteers in Sport Awards proudly supported by the National Network of 29 Local Sports Partnerships.
The County Tipperary award for 2022 has been awarded to Niall O’Sullivan of Clonmel AC.

Coaching Girls in Sport Workshop

In celebration of Women in Sports Week 6th - 12th March 2023 Tipperary Sports Partnership supported by Sports Ireland Coaching will deliver a Coaching Girls in Sport Workshop on Tuesday March 7th 7.00pm-10.00pm

This workshop has been developed by Sport Ireland Coaching to provide a professional development opportunity for coaches working in the area of sport and physical activity, and is specifically aimed at those coaching girls aged 12 – 17.

At Tipperary LSP, we have enjoyed working with over 11,000 participants throughout 2022.

Over the course of the year, we carried out over 218 targeted physical activity programmes, courses, and events which included 856 participants with disabilities, 8,799 young people and 1,364 adults.

The Sports Partnership successfully secured in excess of €720,000 in funding to support the delivery of its programmes and initiatives in Tipperary.

Kick Fit Soccer Programme.

The Tipperary Town Community Sports Hub is delighted to host a Kick Fit Soccer Programme with the FAI at the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre.
This is a Social Soccer 6 Week Programme for women of any ability.
If want to return to soccer, try it out or bring a friend along to a social setting with physical activity then this is the programme for you.
This programme starts on Tuesday March 7th.
It runs from 7pm - 8pm

Age & Opportunity Active National Grant Scheme

How to Train as a Midlife Woman

Tipperary Sports Partnership are facilitating a workshop on How to Train as a Midlife Woman.
This workshop will provide you with practical solutions and science based strategies for active women and to help those who wish to continue to perform as you age.
It will discuss the areas of menopause, nutrition and exercise.

· Answering the big question ‘why does exercise feel so hard’
· Making exercise choices – how different types of training benefit you or feel really hard – Why is this?

Rosegreen / Cashel 8 Week Walking Programme.
Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with Suil Eile are facilitating this walking programme and it will start on Monday 16th January, 2023 at 7.30pm.
The meeting point for the first walk is Rosegreen Community Walkway. Participants will be advised of the venue for each week.
The walks will be led each week by a qualified walking tutor.
This walking programme allows you to walk with a group at your own pace and enjoy a new route each night.

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Basic Awareness Training. The course is aimed at sports leaders, children’s officers, parents or anyone working with young people in sport. A central goal for all those involved in sport for young people is to provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can develop and enhance their physical and social skills.

WINTER INITIATIVE 2022
The Winter Initiative Campaign is a major national campaign, which aims to get as many people as possible exercising and participating in physical activity over the coming months.

This FREE initiative encourages participants to increase their daily physical activity by completing a 90 Day Challenge across November, December and January where participants will track their minutes of activity.

Safeguarding 3 - Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Workshop

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Workshop via zoom on Monday 3rd April, 2022 from 6.00-9.00pm.
The third part of the Sport Ireland Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop also known as Safeguarding 3.
Every club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children.

Tug of War. Pulling your Community together.

Tug of War Ireland (TOWI) is the National Governing body for Tug of War in the Republic of Ireland. They have just launched a new community initiative in line with their Strategic Plan to try to promote tug of war within communities. In the interests of supporting this initiative they have also launched funding for these new community clubs once set up, terms and conditions apply.

The 2022 National Grant Scheme for Sport and Physical Activity for Older People is now open for applications.

The 2022 National Grant Scheme aims to assist in the implementation of locally developed, well planned initiatives designed to increase participation in recreational sport and physical activity by older people.

Grants are available to all eligible local clubs, groups and organisations that promote increased participation in recreational sport or physical activity for older people as a main element of their activities.
