Bike Week 2025

Bike Week 2025 takes place from the 10th to 18th of May.

Tipperary Bike Week is an integral part of the overall National Bike Week initiative and is coordinated locally by Tipperary Sports Partnership.
It is a week long celebration of cycling throughout Tipperary.

Tipperary Sports Partnership wishes to launch their Bike Week Competitions for Bike Week 2025.

Help Shape the Future of Youth Sport!

Help Shape the Future of Youth Sport.
Are you a parent, teacher, or coach supporting young people in sport?
Do you know a 12-17-year-old who is passionate about making a difference in how sport is shaped for children and young people?
Sport Ireland is inviting young people to join the Young Voices Focus Group, where they’ll have the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas to help improve sport for their generation.
The focus group will include 14-16 participants, providing a platform for youth voices to be heard.

Tipperary Sports Partnership are hosting a 6 week Activator programme for Older Adults at Loughtagalla Park, Thurles
This programme starts on Monday May 12th at at 4.45pm
This session promotes: Strength, mobility, balance and aerobic fitness
It is also an excellent tool for pre/post hip or knee surgery
The session will be delivered by a specialised tutor and activator poles will be provided.

Tipperary Sports Partnership are pleased to announce the launch of Coaching and Development Fund for 2025.
TSP aims to develop sport and increase physical activity in Tipperary.

The Coaching Fund aims to support and develop quality coaching in Tipperary and to encourage all coaches / volunteers to undertake appropriate education and training through their relevant National Governing Bodies.

Sport Inclusion and Disability Awareness.

Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to present, in association with Active Disability Ireland an online workshop on Sport Inclusion and Disability Awareness.
This online workshop is for all coaches who work with or coach those with a disability within your team or club.
This Online Workshop will take place on Monday the 24th of March, 2025 from 7.30pm - 9pm.

Record Investment of €11.95M for Sport Ireland's Network of Local Sports Partnerships

We’re pleased to see continued Government investment in the Local Sports Partnership network, with €440,250 allocated to support our work in Tipperary.
This funding allows us to keep delivering programmes and initiatives that help people of all ages and abilities stay active.
It’s a strong endorsement of the role local, participation-led sport plays in improving health, wellbeing, and community engagement.
With this support, we can continue working alongside clubs, schools, and community groups to make sport accessible to everyone.

First Aid Course (REC 1)

Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to facilitate a First Aid Course (REC 1).
This course is designed to provide first aid skills to people working or operating in a rural/remote and sports environments.
REC 1 will provide participants with the lifesaving skills, knowledge and confidence to deal with first aid in realistic sport settings.
This course will cover: Health Safety and Welfare, Principles of First Aid, Vital Signs, Basic Body Organs and Function, Safety, Casualty Care,

Recent Storm Damage Survey.

Has your sports facility been damaged in recent storms. Sport Ireland are attempting to get a picture of damage in the most affected counties. We would be grateful if a representative from your club would complete this survey so we can compile a comprehensive report on your behalf. This questionnaire is for information purposes only and does not constitute any commitment of funding support at the moment.

Summit Sisters

As part of Women in Sport Week why not join us for a Women's only hike around Lake Muskry.
This Hike takes places on Sunday March 9th from 9.30am to 1pm.
This hike is for over 18's and costs €10 plus booking fee.

Terrain: A mix of forestry, open moorland, and tracks

Fueling Your Fitness for Women in Sport.

As part of Women in Sport Week Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to host a workshop Fueling Your Fitness for Women In Sport.

This workshop will be delivered by Ruth Kavanagh, MSc. ANutr. (Registered Associate Nutritionist) from EduFIT.
This workshop takes place on Wednesday 5th of March, 2025 at 6pm.

It is aimed at active girls and women and will also benefit people who support young active girls including fitness instructors, coaches, female liaison officers, PE teachers, friends and family.

Training and The Female Menstrual Cycle

As part of Women in Sport Week Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to host a free one hour workshop “Training and the Female Menstrual Cycle”

It will be delivered by Dr. Kiera Ward (Exercise Physiologist and Sports Scientist) and Ruth Kavanagh, MSc. ANutr. (Registered Associate Nutritionist) from EduFIT.

This workshop is aimed at young active girls (aged 15 – 18 years old) who would like to learn more about training, nutrition, recovery and wellbeing with special considerations related to the menstrual cycle.

Tipperary Volunteer in Sport Award Winner Announced

Paddy Fitzgerald of Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams GAA club has been named as the 2024 County Tipperary recipient of The Federation of Irish Sport Volunteers in Sport Awards.
These awards are supported by the National Network of 26 Local Sports Partnerships.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown on Friday, 28th February 2025.
These Awards recognise 35 outstanding volunteers from every county in Ireland (four in Dublin) for their tireless dedication to sport and physical activity in their local communities.

Women on Wheels

Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to facilitate a 6 Week Women on Wheels Programme in Clonmel.
This programme is starting on March 8th (International Women's Day).
It is designed to take you from a hesitant rider to a confident cyclist.
The starting point for this programme is TUS Sports Hub Car Park, Clonmel.
The programme will run each week from 9.30am to 10.30am.
The total cost is €50 plus online booking fee.
Places are Limited.
This programme is for Women over 18.

Contribute your thoughts /ideas and make a contribution to Tipperary County Outdoor Recreation Strategy.

An impressive National Outdoor Recreational Strategy (2023-2027) was developed to oversee and guide the development and promotion of all aspects of outdoor recreation in the country. A key recommendation was the development of a County Outdoor Recreation Plans (CORP's) for every county.
Tipperary County Council along with multiple local partners including Tipperary Sports Partnership are currently driving the development of a County Outdoor Recreation Plan for Tipperary.

Swim For A Mile 2025.

Would you like to improve your ability in the water
Why not join up for the 10 Week Swim for a Mile Programme.
Each week the programme offers 2 coached swim nights and 1 self-guided swim.
All with the focus to help you Swim a Mile with confidence and ease.
This is an excellent programme to progress from swimming only 2 lengths of a swimming pool to confidently swimming a full mile (64 lengths).
All participants must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool comfortably.
This programme starts the week of the 21st of January, 2025 in 5 locations

How to Train as a Midlife Woman.

Tipperary Sports Partnership are facilitating a workshop on Mastering Midlife for Woman.
This workshop will provide you with practical solutions and science based strategies for active women and to help those who wish to continue to perform as you age.
It will discuss the areas of menopause, nutrition and exercise.
