Tipperary Sports Club Support Package 2024
Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a Coach Education Programme to enable sports clubs in Tipperary to gain easier access to relevant training courses that will benefit their coaches.
This package will consist of four online workshops to be delivered through zoom. They will take place on each Tuesday night in November from 7.30pm to 9pm

These workshops are heavily subsidised and is an exiciting opportunity for Tipperary Clubs to avail of. There is a limit of two tickets per club.
Workshop 1 Strength & Conditioning in Sports.
Paudie Roche will lead this workshop, Paudie is the Lead Academy S&C Coach with Arsenal FC, a Setanta College Lecturer and Director of Association for the UKSCA (The Professional Body for Strength and Conditioning in the UK).
Paudie has years of experience at the highest level and will be explaining how to implement S&C into your club environment.
Workshop 2 - Sports Nutrition.
Aaron Grant will lead this workshop, He is currently lecturing sports nutrition, & health and exercise science in TUS.
Aaron completed an undergraduate from SETU Waterford in 2014 and completed his Sport Nutrition postgraduate degree in 2016.
Aaron is also currently undertaking his PhD in sport. Along with this he has over 10 years’ experience within the field, having worked with a wide range of sporting organizations like the GAA, FAI, Local Sports Partnerships, and student sports.
Workshop 3 Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) in Sport.
Dr. Philip Kearney will lead this workshop. He is a lecturer, and a Performance & Course Director of MSc. Applied Sports Coaching in the University of Limerick. LTAD is a critical component in creating a healthy and successful environment in our clubs/organisations.
He will also aim to explore what a successful LTAD plan looks like, and how the previous topics may link in with the plan.
Workshop 4 - Sports Psychology.
Dr. Marion Geary will lead this workshop. Marion lectures in TUS in the areas of sport and exercise psychology, psychological skills for performance, athlete development, talent development and elite athlete welfare.
She is the programme lead for the L8 Sports Development and Performance programme. Her areas of research include athlete identity, motivation, and the development of holistic approaches to athlete development and performance and sports environments.
She has completed her PhD in these areas. She has also supported many teams in sport and performance psychology specialising in the GAA.
She has over 20 years’ experience in coaching in the GAA across all age grades and played camogie for 30 years including 10 years at an elite level.
She is passionate about the development of psycho-social skills that enable athletes develop a safe and fulfilling life within and outside sport.
Cost for 4 week package: €40 (plus booking fee)
Please note a different club member can attend each of the workshops it does not have to be the same person at each workshop but the name and email address of each attendee must be provided and they must be a member of your club. Attendees must be over 18 years of age.
Attendees must be a member of a Sports Club that is affiliated to a National Governing Body of Sport (NGB).
