Tipperary Sports Club Support Package 2023
Tipperary Sports Partnership is running 4 workshops to support club coaches and volunteers who deliver sport in Tipperary.
A workshop will be delivered via zoom on Tuesday 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th of November from 7.30pm – 9:00pm. Booking is through https://bit.ly/3rIN2xK
Workshop 1 Strength & Conditioning in Sports.
Paudie Roche will lead this workshop, Paudie is the Lead Academy S&C Coach with Arsenal FC, a Setanta College Lecturer and Director of Association for the UKSCA (The Professional Body for Strength and Conditioning in the UK).
Paudie has years of experience at the highest level and will be explaining how to implement S&C into your club environment.
Workshop 2 - Sports Nutrition.
Aaron Grant will lead this workshop.
He is currently lecturing sports nutrition, & health and exercise science in TUS. Aaron completed an undergraduate from SETU Waterford in 2014 and completed his Sport Nutrition postgraduate degree in 2016.
Aaron is currently undertaking his Phd in sport. Along with this he has over 10 years’ experience within the field, having worked with a wide range of sporting organizations like the GAA, FAI, Local Sports Partnerships, and student sports.
Aaron has many years’ experience in this field and will focus on the various areas of sports nutrition and how it impacts performance.
Workshop 3 - Sports Psychology.
Keith Hennessy will lead this workshop. As well as been a lecturer at LIT Thurles and considered an expert in sports psychology,
Keith has worked with top GAA teams including Tipperary, Waterford and Clare.
He has also worked within the FAI setup for a number a years.
The workshop will focus on how coaches can use some sports psychology tips and tricks to best assist the needs of their players and athletes.
Workshop 4 Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) in Sport.
Dr. Philip Kearney will lead this workshop. He is a lecturer, and a Performance & Course Director of MSc. Applied Sports Coaching in UL.
LTAD is a critical component in creating a healthy and successful environment in our clubs/organisations.
He will also aim to explore what a successful LTAD plan looks like, and how the previous topics may link in with the plan.
This package is heavily subsidised and has limited availability, so please register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
