ICOACHGIRLS Play Centre

Tipperary Sports Partnership and Sport Ireland are delighted to announce Tipperary Town as a location for an ICOACHGIRLS Play Centre

We are seeking expressions of interest for girls between the ages of 5-12 who are inactive and not involved in a sports club.
The Programme is for 10 weeks and will consist of activities that will meet the social, psychological and physical needs of the girls.
The programme starts on Wednesday 27th September in the Canon Hayes Sports Centre;
5-8 year olds from 4-5pm
9-12 year olds 5-6pm in the Canon Hayes Sports Centre.

Certificate in Sports Club Administration Level 6

Certificate in Sports Club Administration Level 6 (Special Purpose Award)

This part-time course will provide participants with a full understanding of the dynamics,

responsibilities and relationships involved in the administration of a sports club.

It will instill an appreciation of the skills required to oversee the complexities, be they administrative,

financial or managerial, involved in the modern sports club.

Lets Get Nenagh Walking

Let's Get Nenagh Walking.
Tipperary Sports Partnership are facilitating Lets Get Nenagh Walking and this walking programme will start on Monday 2nd October at 7.30pm.
The meeting point for the first walk is at John's Lane Car Park, Nenagh.
The walks will be led each week by a qualified walking tutor.
This walking programme allows you to walk with a group at your own pace and enjoy a new route each day.
The programme starts at 4km building up to a 7km.
The cost of the programme is €10 + online booking fee.

Aquafit Programme for Older Adults at Nenagh Leisure Centre

Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with Healthy Ireland are facilitating a 12 week Aquafit Programme for Older Adults in Nenagh Leisure Centre.
Aqua Fit is A Water-Based Exercise Programme that caters For All Levels And Abilities.
It is a great combination of fun and exercise.

Volunteers Needed

TSP and TUS Needs You!!

TSP & TUS are seeking volunteers to assist with a Sport Ireland Research Project ‘Can Virtual Reality be used to coach canoeing skills to new canoeists and, if so, how effective is it compared to traditional canoeing coaching methods?’
To partake in the project volunteers must have no previous experience of canoeing.
Volunteers will learn the basics of kayaking on the water or through virtual reality.

Participants must be available September 18th, 20th, 22nd, 25th and 27th for two hours each night.

8 Week Walking Programme - Cahir

Women's Water Aerobics

Tipperary Sports Partnership and Swim Ireland are teaming up to provide an Introduction to Aqua Aerobics at Ballina Riverside Pool on Tuesday August 15th at 7pm.

We are inviting you to encourage your daughter, niece, mum, grandmother, sister or friend to come along and join us for a fun aqua aerobics session, that you haven't experienced before!

Her Outdoor Week

HER Outdoors Week takes place from August 14th – 20th.
HER Outdoors week aims to celebrate and encourage more females to get out and enjoy the benefits of being in the outdoors while bringing visibility to the opportunities for females to get involved in outdoor physical activity.
This week is all about providing more opportunities for ALL females to escape to the outdoors and try something new.
For such a tiny island, there are so many incredible outdoor activities on offer and this should be celebrated to the fullest!

Sports Ability Day

Tipperary Sports Partnership is hosting a “Sports Ability Day” on Friday 18th August in the Presentation Sports Complex, Thurles from 11am-1pm.

The “Sports Ability Day” will showcase a range of inclusive sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.

Participants will have the chance to sample a range of activities including golf, soccer, boccia, dance, hockey and more.

There will also be a number of organisations in attendance on the day to provide information on their services.

Women on the Water Kayaking

Women on the Water Kayaking as part of HER OUTDOORS WEEK.

This is a fun and exciting way to get out and about on the River Suir to explore your local area. These taster sessions are of introductory level and operate under the guidance of qualified Canoeing Ireland Instructors.

Course will take place at the Suir Island, Clonmel.

Starts: Mondays 14th August 2023

Dates: August 14th, 21st, 28th & September 4th

Cost: €80 plus booking fee

Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with The Tipperary Town Community Sports Hub are delighted to host Circuit Training Programme for Older Adults at the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre.

This is an opportunity to meet new people or bring friends along to exercise in a social setting

2023 Sports Capital and Equipment Programme

JUST ANNOUNCED
The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin T.D., and the Minister of State for Sport and Physical Education, Thomas Byrne T.D., today announced that a new round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP) will open at 9am on Monday 17th July 2023 until 5pm on Friday 8th September 2023.
Deadline for registration is 5pm on Friday 25th August 2023.

TSP Swimmin Women 8 Week Swimming Programme
Are you ready for a challenge for 2023?
Looking for something to help you get fit, improve your ability in water.
Why not join up for the 8 Week Swimmin Women Programme.
This programme will be running in 6 Pools across Tipperary.
This is an excellent programme to make you a better swimmer or get back into the water if you haven't had a chance in a while.
All participants must be able to swim 2 full lengths of a 25m pool.

Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Basic Awareness Training

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Basic Awareness Training. The course is aimed at sports leaders, children’s officers, parents or anyone working with young people in sport. A central goal for all those involved in sport for young people is to provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can develop and enhance their physical and social skills.

Multi Use Games Area - St. Michael's Avenue, Tipperary

The Tipperary Town Community Sports Hub are running activities in the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) on St Michael’s Avenue, Tipperary Town.
It will include 3 weeks of Soccer with an FAI coach and 3 weeks of Basketball with a Basketball Ireland coach.
This programme starts on July 4th and costs €5 plus booking fee.
Starting time is 3pm each week for 5-8 year olds
Starting time is 4pm for 9-12 year olds

Teen Explorers Kayaking Camps

Tipperary Sports Partnership are delighted to be hosting Teen Explorers Kayaking Camps which will run from 26th - 30th June, 2023
This allows you ample time to get to grips with this amazing sport and enjoy the stunning surroundings of the River Suir.
All equipment is supplied all you need to do is turn up and have a good time. Participants will learn the fundamental movements of kayaking and journeying along the River Suir
Spaces are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis.
This Camp is for children aged between 12-18 year olds.
